A private shared cat home lets your invited humans see and update the same recorded care. Sharing for your first cat is free.

Start a shared cat home

1. The owner signs in with Apple in Herbie Settings.
2. Tap Start a shared cat home.
3. Choose Add People in Apple’s sharing screen.
4. Select the other human and leave Can Make Changes enabled if they should update care.
5. The invited person installs Herbie, signs in to iCloud and Sign in with Apple, then opens and accepts the invitation link.

Sharing uses Apple’s invitations, permissions and iCloud services. For more help, see the Herbie support page.

Check what’s been recorded

Set your routines, record completed care and check the same household history. A recorded breakfast tells your humans what’s been logged; an unlogged breakfast does not prove the cat hasn’t eaten.

Updates depend on connectivity and Apple’s sync services. Check directly with the other human if a record is unclear.

Does everyone need to be a co-owner?

No. An invited human can update shared care without being a co-owner. Reserve co-owner access for people who should also manage the household or invite others.

If an invitation hasn’t worked

Check both devices are signed in to iCloud, iCloud Drive is enabled, Herbie is installed and the invitation is opened by the Apple account that was invited. The owner can reopen Add a spare human to manage or resend invitations.
