Add PixelHerb
to your Home Screen.
The PixelHerb Home Screen widget is included for free. You do not need Herbie Pro to use it for your first cat.
Before you begin
Install Herbie, open it and introduce your cat. Herbie requires iOS 18 or later.
Add the widget
- Touch and hold an empty part of your Home Screen.
- Tap Edit, then Add Widget.
- Find Herbie and choose a widget size, then add it.
- Touch and hold the Herbie widget and choose Edit Widget.
- Set Style to PixelHerb. Choose Portrait instead if you prefer your cat’s photo.
Home Screen labels can vary with your iOS version. If the controls look different, check the Herbie support page.
What the scene means
A raised paw can show a routine that hasn’t been logged. Birthday and National Cat Day scenes follow dates rather than sensing your cat. These are records and scenes, not a live monitor.
Record care from the widget
PixelHerb and Portrait widgets can tick off supported care without opening Herbie. The completion is recorded in Herbie, while the widget’s displayed state remains subject to iOS refresh timing.
If the widget hasn’t changed
Open Herbie and check your recorded routines. Widget updates are partly controlled by iOS; they are not guaranteed to happen immediately. Opening the app periodically helps keep the widget’s summary current.
